The "Atschel". Founded in the year 1849, the tavern "Atschel" belongs to the oldest Apfelwine-pubs of Sachsenhausen, the southern part of the City of Frankfurt upon Main. Of course the name sounds a bit strange to all non-hessians, but as one can see at the logo itīs the hessian name for a magpie. Since the experienced landlord Stefan Kaden took over the "Atschel" in the year 2002 it developed from the former Ugly Duckling to a true beauty amongst all Apple wine restaurants of the city. Which testifies the ranking of the publication Prinz: P 1 of all Apple wine pubs in Frankfurt since 2011. There are many good reasons for that position.

First of all there are the comfortable rooms with the typical long benches and tables which create accompanied by the ethnic wooden flor and the old Art Nouveau balloon-lamps a very traditional-modern Atmosphere. On the other hand the constant high quality of the kitchen at reasonable prices is a guarantee for the high popularity ot the tavern. Whether about Bio-Trouts from the nearby hills of the Taunus or game out of local forests, for all dishes we prefer local-regional products. Just have a close look into the Menu. And in the warmer season you should have definitively a look onto the large Garden terrace. We are looking forward to welcome you.
